We’ve collaborated with one of our top affiliates, who is also a Czech local and a frequent visitor to Prague, for some insider suggestions. Luckily, they agreed to share their tips. • • Kantýna – A paradise for meat lovers. Let’s be clear, this place isn’t for vegetarians. However, if you’re seeking mouthwatering, perfectly cooked meat, this is your meat Mecca. At Kantýna, you can select your preferred cut of meat from the counter, and they’ll cook it exactly to your liking. The unique dining concept includes paper tickets and a large communal standing table in the center, bringing a community atmosphere of sharing meals with fellow diners.

 

• • Lokál Dlouhááá – A favorite local pub from our Czech insider. In a city overflowing with beer and pubs, that’s saying something. Expect traditional Czech cuisine and an authentic Czech atmosphere. Described as a lively, bustling pub with “the world’s best beer,” Lokàl is a must-visit when in Prague. Insider tip: Try the Fried Cheese.

 

• Mlynec – Picture yourself dining above the Vltava River, with the Charles Bridge in sight. At Mlynec you’ll enjoy beautiful food with a picture-perfect Prague as your backdrop. The newly designed interior, inspired by the river’s surface, enhances the experience. Chef Vladimír Vaníček infuses modern techniques into Czech classics, the result being delicious, memorable dishes.

• • Restaurace U Pinkasů – Nestled in the heart of the Old Town, this traditional Czech tavern is a hidden gem. Its unassuming exterior belies the charming beer garden tucked away from the bustling streets. The tavern offers an impressive array of beers, each crafted with distinctive flavors and styles catering to both seasoned connoisseurs and beer novices. One aspect we love about Restaurace U Pinkasů? It’s slightly off the main tourist path, ensuring a local-centric environment. The straightforward waiter adds authenticity, adding to the traditional Czech experience.

 

• • Absintherie – A visit to Prague isn’t complete without a trip to an Absinthe bar. Today, Prague is Europe’s Absinthe capital, with a focus on tasting its bohemian history rather than getting wasted and chasing the ‘Green Fairy’. At Absintherie, you can sample over 100 variations of absinthe, many locally distilled. Don’t fret if absinthe shots aren’t your thing, the bar offers a huge variety of unique absinthe cocktails.

 

• L’Fleur – Having covered beer and absinthe, let’s turn to cocktails. A little more touristy than our other recommendations, but well worth the visit. L’Fleur offers a relaxed and stylish setting for you to enjoy unique, elevated cocktails. Instead of a typical menu the bartenders will inquire about your preferred base spirit and your taste preferences. Soon after, a customized cocktail that perfectly suits your taste will be served to you.
