Restaurant Rosenstein | If you want a real taste of Budapest, look no further. This is a traditional, family-run restaurant that has built a strong reputation for offering high-quality dishes, making it a spot where you’ll rub shoulders with both locals and tourists looking for authentic and hearty meals.
The ambience is cozy, unpretentious, and welcoming, and it’s everything you could want from a family restaurant. Due to its popularity, booking ahead is probably necessary. Delicious bowl of goulash anyone?
Szaletly | If you are looking for somewhere a bit more upmarket, perhaps to impress a client or get a deal over the line, Szaletly is the perfect spot. It’s classy, it’s elegant, it’s got a traditional menu with some impressive dishes.
A very short taxi from the conference, the restaurant is located across from the Stefánia Palace, which was built in the late 19th century and named after Princess Stefánia of Belgium, the wife of Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria-Hungary (regurgitate this fact on arrival to really wow your dinner companions). This is an impressive yet chill venue with an excellent menu and an even better wine list.
Chinatown | Budapest’s Chinatown is located just around the corner from HungExpo, where the conference is taking place, so if you have a particular soft spot for Asian cuisine and simply have to get your fix, you’re in luck. There is no shortage of tasty spots here, including Jin’s Delicates and In Town Hotpot.

Kertem | Located in Városliget, one of Budapest’s nicest parks, Kertem is a classic “kert” (garden) bar and is always a hot spot in the summer months. If you’re looking for somewhere near the conference to take a load off and enjoy good beer, good music and good weather, tucked away in some greenery, this is the spot for you. We don’t think it needs any more of a sell than that.

Peach and Cream Bar | If you’ve had enough of talking and you just want to dance the night away, hop in a taxi and head to the Peaches And Cream Club. It is a 20-minute ride from the conference center, but we promise you, you won’t be disappointed. What many call the ‘best club in Budapest’ will quench your party thirst.

Széchenyi Thermal Baths | Looking to shake off the night before? This thermal bath is the place for you. Budapest is often referred to as the “City of Spas” because of its rich supply of natural thermal springs. Széchenyi has a wide range of indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, and wellness services It’s the closest major thermal bath to the conference location and one of the most grand in the city.
Take In Some Culture
Buda Castle District | If you are searching for something a little more cultural and wholesome to make you feel like you’ve actually visited Budapest, the Buda Castle District and in particular Castle Hill is what you are looking for. It is on the other side of the Danube River, but the half-hour taxi is worth it. The hill offers amazing views over the city, and is an UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with historic buildings, cobblestone streets, and medieval architecture. One for the history enthusiasts, it’s the perfect place to stroll around for an hour or 2 and get a sense of the medieval city.
